Before we first decided to go th Barcelona we did our research so we would be ready to see all the attractions. We read travel books, tour ebooks and did a lot og google searches. After all the searching and reading, we were not truly prepared for the fantastic atmosphere and a brilliant vacation experience that you’ll remember.

In practicality Barcelona is the Capital of Catalonia but it’s more than that. It’s a perfect place for a fun holiday. With history dating back before the Romans. Barcelona has always been a major player in the fortunes of Spain, the Mediterranean and Europe. Artists and architects have left their mark on this city. Located originally for its military position but little did they know this would become a fun tourist destination.
If architecture is your thing then the buildings designed by Antoni Gaudi such as Basilica Sagrada Família will make your day. Want a dazzling musical lighted fountain then the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc is a must see tourist attraction. Or if you fancy a ride on a ca cable sky ride over the city and port, you can do that too!

The weather is almost always going to be a sunny days.
Put together the warm waters of the Mediterranean, sunshine, happy locals, attractions that are worth seeing well that’s the Barcelona mix for tourists.
If you love shopping then this is the right place. Small boutique shops to all the big Spanish fashion retailers like Zara, Stradivarius, Mango a Desigual are here as well as El Cortes Ingles and H&M.
Shopping walks along the famous La rambles promenade an tours of the Medieval Gothic Quarter even Roman archeological diggings.

Evey time we visit Barcelona it seems to keep getting better. The white beaches seem to go forever and are right there next to the other attractions.
Every beach side street is lined with cafes, restaurants, street entertainers, markets and shops.
We should also mention if you haven’t been to Spain everything is inexpensive, actually wining, dining and quick meals are cheap! Make no mistake you can certainly go 5 star with anything but only if you want.
Having in excess of 32 million tourist every yer. 16 million are day-trippers.
The numbers tell the story this is a tourist paradise. With a population of only 1.6 million residents this is incredible. In fact on 27 January, 2017 The Guardian newspaper reported that a law was passed stopping the building of more hotels.
But it’s too late the world knows just how great Barcelona city is, so make sure you visit and enjoy every minute.
