The Sunshine Coast is great!
A tourist haven with a mix of tall palms, gum trees, white and a fantastic long beaches.
The ocean is blue and the sand is soft. Looking out on to the bay with distant land shapes. In places the cliffs drop into the sea and are covered with trees.
Sunshine Coast Towns
Travelling north from Brisbane is the Sunshine Coast. The northern most town is Noosa. To drive to the Sunshine Coast simply travel on the M1 Bruce Highway and take the turn off as you come to them.
The first town is Caloundra. Approximately 90km (60 miles) from Brisbane.
Drive using the M1 Bruce Highway. Time: 1hour 15 minutes. Train which stops at Nambour and there you can catch a bus. Time: 2 hours 40 minutes
Coaches also travel between Brisbane to Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. Time: 2 hours 30 minutes.
Top Caloundra Attractions
Aussie World Theme Park and the QLD Air Museum. The main beach is Kings Beach for surfing and Bullock Beach is a great family beach. Hire a jet ski, surfboard, Wind surfer, kayak or go body surfing.
Noosa is the main tourist town with shopping in Hasting Street.
Lined with trees that cover the sidewalk. This is a relaxing scene for a stroll. Plenty of fashion and souvenir shops to look at. Located about an hour drive north of Brisbane.
The real feature is the beach is only a 50 meter walk away. Soon you’re on the white sand which is almost super soft. A boardwalk stretches along the beach if you want. Cafes face the water and are a perfect place to sit and enjoy the view.
At varying times during the year, tents, stages with live bands are set up om the beach.
The Sunshine Coast and Noosa are the perfect combination for a great vacation.
