Gold Coast beaches are patrolled by surf life savers. Look for the flags and signs for safe swimming.
Take a tour, learn to surf or just relax on the soft sandy beaches!
The Gold Coast beaches stretch for 57 kilometres (35 miles). Mainly the surfing beaches are at Surfers Paradise, Main Beach, Broadbeach and Burleigh Heads. Swimming is safe as these beaches are all patrolled with lifesavers on duty.

There are surfing lessons on most of the main beaches.
If you want to swim in calmer waters there are the Coolangatta and Currumbin beaches.


The main shopping areas are located at Surfers Paradise, Southport and Broadbeach.
Surfers Paradise is the central location. Souvenir shops, cafes and bars are on Cavill Avenue Mall.

Australia Fair is the major indoor shopping Mall. Packed with retail shops, cafes,, a food mall and the major food shops including Coles and Woolworths
Southport in the in the inlet called the ‘Spit’ is another alternative. Offering a protected swimming area with water slides and is great for family entertainment. The local council has built a child friendly park.
The views across the water are impressive with the Hotel Versace next to the sails of Marina Mirage shopping complex.
An added feature is the Australia Fair shopping center is just across the road.

This is the closest theme park and is located on The Spit, just past Main Beach. Tourist can enjoy live water spectacular shows. Plus roller coaster rides and view the dolphins, sharks and polar bears. The seagulls although not part of the attraction are entertaining, but watch out and keep an eye on your hotdog!

Wet ‘n’ Wild

Great fun with its extreme water slides such as Kamikaze and the Tornado. The weather is usually just great. So pack your bathers and towel!

Warner Bros Movie World

Super fun for all the families. Plenty of kid-friendly attractions. Animated virtual rides and a live entertainment spectacular. Also the chance to meet some of the famous cartoon characters.


Loaded at Oxenford and accessible by bus, it only takes about 20 minutes.
Packed with rollercoasters and fun rides. Thrill seeker will love the Big 9 Thrill Rides. Including The Giant Drop, Tower of Terror and Buzz Saw.

Located at Entertainment Drive at Oxenford.
Watch an Australian horse riding spectacular. Dining on a famous Australian barbecue (BBQ),


located at Broadbeach next to the casino and opposite the Pacific Fair shopping center. You can take a ride on the tram.
A fun filled entertainment cabaret restaurant. The meals are great and if you like a lot of jokes it’s for you. The jokes may be at your expense and the waiters and waitresses may give you a hard time. But it’s all good fun and watch out for the man himself, Count Dracula!
